writer’s/weaver’s studio
Senior Studio / Yale / 2018
I sought to balance open studio space with cozier thinking space in this cabin designed for a writer or weaver visiting the Josef and Anni Alber’s Foundation. The cabin, located in the forest against a rocky ridge, encircles a small inner courtyard and opens to the larger natural landscape. Drawing inspiration from the act of weaving, I designed a facade that wove together the natural rock landscape with simple wood bricks in a herringbone pattern.
